### Kentucky Butter Cake

**Ingredients:**

**For the Cake:**

– 3 cups all-purpose flour

– 2 cups granulated sugar

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 1 teaspoon baking powder

– 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

– 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 1 cup buttermilk, at room temperature

– 4 large eggs, at room temperature

– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

**For the Butter Sauce:**

– 1/3 cup unsalted butter

– 3/4 cup granulated sugar

– 2 tablespoons water

– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

**Instructions:**

1. **Preheat Oven:** Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan, ensuring all the nooks and crannies are well-coated.

2. **Mix the Dry Ingredients:** In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.

3. **Add the Wet Ingredients:** Add the softened butter, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Use a hand mixer or stand mixer on medium speed to beat the mixture until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.

4. **Bake the Cake:** Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan, smoothing the top with a spatula. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

5. **Prepare the Butter Sauce:** While the cake is baking, prepare the butter sauce. In a small saucepan, combine the butter, sugar, and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is well combined. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

6. **Soak the Cake:** Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Poke holes all over the top of the cake using a skewer or toothpick. Slowly pour the butter sauce over the cake, allowing it to soak in.

7. **Cool and Serve:** Let the cake cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, invert the cake onto a serving platter. The cake is delicious on its own, but you can also serve it with a dusting of powdered sugar or a dollop of whipped cream.
