**Old-Fashioned Ham and Potato Cakes**
**Ingredients**
* 2 cups mashed potatoes
* 1 cup cooked ham, finely diced
* 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
* 1 egg
* 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
* 1/2 tsp salt
* 1/4 tsp black pepper
* 2 tbsp butter
**Instructions**
1. In a large bowl, combine mashed potatoes, ham, onion, egg, flour, salt, and pepper.
2. Mix until well combined.
3. Shape into small patties.
4. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
5. Fry patties for 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
6. Drain briefly on paper towels.
7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce or gravy.
