Tasty Prime Rib Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 bone-in prime rib roast (6-8 pounds)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Garlic cloves (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C).
- Prepare the Roast:
- Place the prime rib roast on a rack in a roasting pan.
- Rub the roast with olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper.
- If desired, use a paring knife to insert garlic cloves into the roast for added flavor.
- Roast at High Temperature:
- Place the roasting pan in the preheated oven and roast the prime rib at 500°F (260°C) for 15 minutes.
- Reduce Temperature:
- After 15 minutes, reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (160°C) and continue roasting.
- Use a meat thermometer to monitor the internal temperature of the roast:
- For medium-rare, aim for 135°F (57°C).
- For medium, aim for 140°F (60°C).
- For well-done, aim for 150°F (66°C).
- Rest the Roast:
- Once the roast reaches your desired level of doneness, remove it from the oven.
- Let it rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a tender and flavorful roast.
Serving
- Slice the prime rib and serve it with your favorite sides and sauces. Enjoy
